Default A little advice on my set-up... epson 9600 with lyson photochrome inks

I currently run a canvas printing company using an epson 9600 with lyson photochrome inks.

We have had a lot of requests for t-shirts with our logo etc, but this has made me think of doing a range of t-shirt designs.

Obviously I would like to use my current set-up. Does anyone use this kind of set-up? After searching the forums there seems to be different methods of printing. From what I have read, I am better buying transfer paper and transferring by heat to plain t-shirts?

Have I read right? Feel free to correct me on a better method using my ink/printer set-up. Thanks in advance for advice...

There isn't really a better setup using your existing equipment.. all you would need is some quality heat transfer papers and a heat press.. both you can find fairly cheap.

the method you use for printing is slightly based on the logo. if you have like an 8 color logo you probably want heatpress or DTG. but if its a 1-2 color logo i would suggest screen printing because IN MY OPINION it is better quality and can be done very cheaply.

Take a look at the prices and it might be worth it for you to have it screen printed. If you like to do stuff yourself, go for the heatpress. Ask around and search the form for some quality papers and go for it! good luck.

hey thanks for the advice...

I am presuming with transfer paper etc you are limited to the finish of the print? i.e. that plastic type feeling?

Because, I have a few tees that I love and the designs are a sort of suede finish? Can this be achieved with transfer papers? Or is this a whole different process in tshirt printing?

That type of finish is done with traditional screen printing. Usually those type of prints are done in larger quantities (like 48+ pieces of the same design)
