Default Epson 7880 using standard inks...Possible for JPSS transfers?

Can anyone please help me?

I own an Epson 7880 24" printer and wish to use it to print on JPSS using the standard inks.

I have read numerous threads about printing with this printer with hybrid tanks and sublimation ink, but there is not much said about people printing transfers using this printer to print with the standard Ultrachrome inks...

Can this be done?..
Does the ink hold and wash well?

I have read every forum section on here and still cannot find the answer!!

Please help if you can, am set to take delivery of a press in the next 3 weeks and am fearing now that this printer may not do the job....

Many thanks.

Darren.

Thank you, but I have read all forums on here! This seems to be a isolated incident. I was hoping that someone is using this process with success!

Many thanks anyway. = )

There is a reference in the thread about information on Epson's site indicating Ultrachrome is not recommended for transfers.

Hi,

Yes I did see that, but Girlzndollz (Kelly) has helped me with lots of queries so far, and she said:

"Yes, pigment is the ink of choice for this process. Your printer actually uses Epson UltraChrome 3. That is better than the Durabrite that most people use because unlike Durabrite... there doesn't seem to be issues with colorshifting under the heat of the press."

Kelly does seem to know her stuff, that's why I am hoping someone has had some experience with this method.

Many thanks =)
