Default First BIG JOB, Question on Teflon Paper and pressing

I have searched the site first but didn't come up with a solid answer to my question so I'll just blurt it all out here so in the future it can help another up and comer like myself with there answer.

I have my first big job, all letters 2 inches big, in PINK, on Thermo-Film from Stahls. Now I noticed I am probably going to need teflon paper for when I do these because they will be die-cut letters which leaves you with no Kraft paper to pull off so you need to put a TEFLON? paper over the letters then press and then peel the Teflon off.

Am I correct so far?

Ok, Now that the front will be pressed these girls want there names on the back of there shirts. Now when i press the names on the back (same way as i did in the front) do i have to use another teflon paper on the BOTTOM of the garment I am pressing so i don't ruin the letters on the opposing side?

Now since I will be doing this more and more, I hear both Teflon paper and Kraft paper can be used to press. What is the difference and what has more longevity?

Last but not least where can I order the teflon paper or kraft paper to have it here in Long Island, NY by Friday?

Seriously any answers to these questions are insanely appreciated!

Well, I'm fairly new to heat transfer myself, but I do know Teflon is used for a gloss or shiny finish and kraft for a matte finish. Teflon is way more durable and, no shock, more expensive. You can get both from Stahl's - not sure about shipping time. I would think you could also get kraft paper at any craft store - no pun intended. All the transfers I've gotten from Stahl's are either already designed with required paper attached or they include it in the packing, but I'm not sure about the type you mentioned.

Hi zooyorkfreak . . .

you can get teflon sheets from QLT (dot) com -- they are located in NY . . you should be able to have it by Friday . . .

I haven't done Thermo-Film before . . however as a suggestion . . . slide your shirt over the bottom plate when your ready to press the second side of the shirt . ... I've done that with golf shirts . .

when you say Kraft paper . . do you mean --parchment paper--?? . . parchment paper you can get at a food store -- in with the bake goods

You should be able to use baking paper (parchment) available form the supermarket.
