Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I have heard a lot of good and a lot of bad on the Magic Touch WOW 7.1 process. I recently purchased an Oki LED printer, Geo Knight 16x20, and a box of WOW 7.1. I own a retail boutique on Melrose in Hollywood, CA. and am about to start offering custom shirts to my customers. I went with this process in spite of the price because I wanted the quality of the end product.
Today was my FIRST pressing and the process met my hopes and then some! The attachment is the first thing ever to come of the press.
The process takes a little time but it is easy. $5 for the WOW, $2 for the shirt, $1 for the ink = $8 and I am going to offer the custom shirts for $18.

PS. It's on a white shirt because that is all I had.

That looks really great Eric I too am in California, in San Pedro were kind of neighbors. What does the wow transfers feel like? Again, great job.
Sunny,
Hey neighbor!
The feel is interesting. It does not scream "cheap" like some transfers but it is far from screen printing. It has it's own special texture. Kind of like a soft, thin plastic feel. I don't mind it personally and I am confident my customers will be OK with it as well. I know some people are purists and really appreciate the soft look and feel of a screen printed garment. I am banking on people favoring the vibrant color and great price over the feel. And of course, I can make it for them in minutes with no minimums or setup fees.

Hi Guys, I've just joined and heard all sorts of great, and bad things about the WoW process. It's been a fair old while since the last post in this thread and I was just wondering how long the prints held up through washing (ie, are they acceptable for commercial retail)? Do any of you have the numbers for that?
Also have any of you found alternatives to the WoW process, sorry I am new and so far WoW is the only dark t-shirt process I've found that seems to get close to screenprinting results.
I also suggest that you do it on a few dark shirts, wash them several times (in different temperatures) and then if everything is ok you are set. I tested it and it looked ok "before washing" but the wash was a different story.
Before you go forward make sure you can CONSISTENTLY wash the shirts and they hold up.
