Default Versatranz Question- pricing

We are getting ready to offer print transfers as an option on our retail website. We already take orders for this service on a regular basis. Trying to understand how Versatranz prices so that we can accurately create a pricing structure. Their product is quality but having a hard time understanding how the pricing works. Hopefully someone can help us understand...

Our most recent order was for two different transfer set ups. Both were text only images both using the same font, text was the same size but one was one line the other was two lines, one ink color, vectorized images were forwarded so no artwork charges. Images were the same size in width, but an inch a part in height.

We were charged the same price for 3 pages of one text only transfer order as 12 pages for the other... the 12 pages used much more ink as there were many more images ganged on each page-again, text only, one color, same font. Not sure how we can create a pricing structure to offer this as a fulltime option as it does not make sense to us... any input?

If you contact Versatrans they will provide you with a price list which clearly shows the price for 3 transfers and the price for 12 transfers. Actually their pricing is available on their website:
Login - Versatrans

Most of the work in screenprinting, especially with small quantities, goes into the set up so prices for small quantities are very high and get less expensive as the quantity goes up. Versatrans I've found to consistently be among the highest priced transfer vendors but they have 1 day turnaround and excellent quality.

Thanks Wormil- Yes, we have their price list... and that is why we listed a question here because when using the automatic quoting system it seems off for certain items so we were hoping that someone could shed some light.

According to their web based pricing, the price for 3 transfers is $78, the price for 12 is $72.12. You commented the pricing didn't make sense to you, that is what I tried to explain about set up charges. Most printers won't even do 3 prints, many will not even do 12. You are paying as much or more for 3 prints because 3 is just as much work as 12. The minute difference in ink isn't going to change the price.

I've never used an automatic quoting system on their site so if it doesn't seem to be working properly you'll have to contact Versatras, but that isn't what your question was about. I would recommend sticking to the price matrix, which is very simple, for the time being.

Perhaps our verbiage may be causing confusion. Our question was in regards to 65 actual transfers vs. 10 trransfers being the same price. And the question was actually about the automatic quoting system. But your answer makes sense if we are understanding it correctly... so they are working in a set up fee for certain order volumes under a set number of pages of transfers? We did contact them, several time - they had no answer. Again, that is why we came here... thought since print transfers are new to us, someone here could give us insight so that we could understand how this pricing process works.

You mention 3 pages and 12 pages which I could only interpret pages as sheets. There is no mention of 10, 65, nor an automatic quoting system in the OP. If the quantities are really 10 & 65, what are the 3 & 12 references?

The set up fees are built into the pricing matrix except as otherwise noted, you can see that for yourself. According to their website:
10 transfers = 60.10
65 transfers = 125.45
There are a variety of additional charges for various extras.

We are discussing custom plastisol transfers correct? If you list exactly what you ordered I can estimate the price based on the pricing matrix I have and see what it comes to.
