apart from epsom , which printers use pigment dye?
hi, im new here and tend to see epsom some up a hell of a lot!
have noticed kodak printers have very cheap ink now and from what i can gather the inks are 'pigment based'. is this pigment ink? also how much is epsom stock ink (the same stuff that comes with the printer) refil carts?
Re: apart from epsom , which printers use pigment dye?
Look careful, I noticed the other day that Canon has a printer that uses Black Pigment ink and all the colors are Dye base. It seems bizarre but they must have thier reasons. Maybe because black is the first color to fade and fades the most or something.

Kodak seems to have several models that use pigment. According to what I read on the Kodak website. If you are planning on going with a cartridge based system, research and find out between Epson and Kodak which has the better deal on inks. Compare pricing and capacity of the carts.
Dont forget to make sure what ever model you choose that it does not have one color cartridge (all colors in one cart) you can waste alot of ink that way. I know the Epson Durabrite has seperate bays for each color. I used one for awhile and when I did certain projects that used primarily one color, it was nice to be able to replace just that color.
Also make sure you can get replacement carts and heat resistant bulk pigment ink for the Kodak. I know you can get it for the Epson.
