Default Vinyl pressing technique - re-pressing

Is there a thread in here about different vinyl pressing techniques?

I'm wanting to hear from people who re-press. What is the technique? Do you let it cool then press again as normal? Or do you press again after peeling off the backing? Or re-press straight away?

I'm interested in knowing what technique works best for them. I'm really just wanting to hear about vinyl pressing but transfer techniques might help others.

Thanks!

When I apply vinyl, I always press twice. First, pre-heat the garment to remove moisture. Next apply the graphic at the recommended time, temp, and pressure. After peeling the carrier sheet, be it a hot or cold peel product, ,I cover the garment with a teflon/pellon sheet and I repress for the full time.

I have always gotten better results pressing twice, it's worth the time for me.

I press soon as I peel with no parchment paper or Teflon sheet and have no problems you can only press hot peel like this not the cold peel...

We have been using stahl's thermofilm for at least 7-8 years and never pre-press the garment. 8-10 seconds at 330 degrees, 45psi (pneumatic press) and peel right away, no post press. Tees, fleece, jerseys. That works for us, but maybe not everyone.

I like to prepress because it removes all wrinkles from the garment, and if its cotton blend, which tends to absorb more moisture from the air, helps remove it.

But like you said...it's all about what works for you!
