Default Trucker Hats vs other baseball caps

I think the trucker hats on Cafepress and Zazzle are ugly looking, with their big flat colored (often white) poly foam fronts. I was wondering if I am using a vinyl cutter (instead of inkjet), can I use a normal baseball cap and just go over that middle seam? Would my hats have any problem if the wearer was sweaty? Or are there non-ugly hats that don't have the front seam? Thanks.

Flex Fit has a new style of hat that doesn't have a seam on the front panel - check out this post: http://www.t-shirtforums.com/member-...tml#post473855

Also - vinyl will apply over the seam. You may see the shaping of the seam through the vinyl, but a lot of people are doing this.

Thanks. Apparently when the wearer gets very sweaty, most imprinted hats will have problems -- would the vinyl method be immune to this?

If the problem has to do with inks runnign or bleeding, you won't have this with vinyl.

We have used jpss several times on 6 panel caps with no problem at all using piment heat transfer ink. Have used this method on light colors and white. Even medium colored caps printing with black or some of the darker color inks. We try to make an outline of some type and hand cut around the outline before pressing as the polymer does change the shade of the cap color. Haven't had a complaint yet. Might want to try it one some similiar colors of fabric remnants first to get the results desired.I try to keep several shades of remnants on hand for testing.
