Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
We are just begining to get into transfers and my question is this: Can you use a non-heat transfer premium cast vinyl for heat transfers? Do you HAVE to use a transfer vinyl?
Sign vinyl is different. You have to use vinyl made for the garments. Look into Imprintables warehouse, the link is to your left. Ask for Josh or Mike, they will help guide you.

I would think that if you put sign vinyl on a t-shirt without heat, it won't stick... if you tried to use heat to apply it, I would imagine it would make one heck of a mess on your heat press....

Why do you want to use other vinyl? Does it have a special finish to it? Shirt vinyl is available with a smooth finish, but also reptile skin, marble/leather, and other textures.
What are you really looking for... ways to use up excess vinyl or how to get a special effect on a shirt?
