A little help needed Hi all. Firstly, this forum and the posters on it have so far been extremely helpful to me but I was wondering if anyone could help me further...
My heat press arrived today, a 40 x 60 swing away from a company called jsm distro and it seems pretty well built. It heats up fine and all the components seem OK however, it arrived with a rubbery base and a teflon sheet which had burn marks on it. These burn marks are actually on the heat press itself too and using the teflon supplied transfers them to my t shirts. I am using fruit of the loom 100 cotton heavyweight white t's. The transfer paper I am using is from a company called jetstream which is local to me so I figured I could save on postage.
I have tried a couple of white t's with disasterous results. I can't seem to peel them off clearly without leaving some cracking at the bottom where I peel from. I am using an epson 1400 printer on high quality photo settings.
Could anyone offer advice on the following:
1) If I get new teflon, will the burn marks keep transferring to it?
2) Is there any way to get rid of the burns from the plate?
3) How do you peel the transfer paper without ruining the bottom of it?
Also, if you see this image below;
It is one of a shirt I own, I was wondering how, if at all, using inkjet, you just print the colour in between the details with no white transferred?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
