I finally decided (after much angst) to go with the Hix Swingman 15 over the Mighty Press 15x15 just for the usage ability in the future in terms of products it can have placed in it.

Now I am about to order from Coastal and they have the teflon sheets which I was going to get on to put on top of the shirt when pressing but wondered if I should get one for under the shirt or get this teflon pad from bestblanks: http://www.bestblanks.com/accessories.html see below for the pad on that page.

Is the pad necessary or is a sheet ok to go with? I know the pad is a lot more but would it be easier to use in that it would keep in place easier?

I want to order today so any quick replies are very, very welcome.

Well I have a Hix 16X20 and I dont put anything under my shirts so.....

OK. Have you had any issues with marks on the lower platen if you don't have an item that covers the whole thing? They recommend getting them at a lot of the on-line stores so is that just to get more money out of the customer or is there a valid reason for it?

Mine came with a silicone rubber covered lower platen, you might want to check and see if yours is the same, if it does in fact have this you will not need anything else
