Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Hi guys, I have a puzzling problem. When I heat press the t-shirt for 5 seconds I see red fiber/spots appearing which was not there at the beginning. Its only happen on the front of the t-shirt.
What can I do? I have tried using hydrogen peroxide but its not working.

are you using any parchment paper/teflon sheet? is this a pre-press to get out moisture? If no parchment/teflon sheet used, is your platen dirty?
They only other spots I have ever seen just appear are common to white garments when the manufacturer does a poor job of adding a chem referred to as "sizing" it is usaully a reddish brown. Nothing seems to get it rid of it. Get a different batch of shirts
Its not the sizing. This stuff looks like tiny red "thread" sometimes its blue or black. Usually not visible at first but will show up after pressing. I used new parchment for every shirt so it should not have happen. BTW, I use 100% comb cotton. Another surprise is it seems to happen more on S and M.

i also get it sometimes, especially on certain shirts like polo shirts or women rib shirts. it looks to me like something with the fibers of the fabric, like there are fibers that after you press them, they become like a blue\black\red threads. it doesnt look good, and i havent found a way around it yet.

Yes, Shane. I'm wondering if its the 100% comb cotton thing. Are you using comb cotton shirts too?
Hi Ed, sorry I missed your question. I will try to post the pictures. It could be a "bad" batch. But its a eye soar. Not professional at all. Can't return either cos' it already pre-press. Bummer.
I've seen this before as well and it happens with some fabrics. We figured this after making sure it wasn't: a dirty press, dirty scissors, ink over spray from printing, or transfer/blotting papers. Another thing that can make dots appear when not noticed on the transfer paper image, is when people directly dry the printed image with a fan. If a fan is placed directly on the printed image and it is too close - it can blow tiny particles of the printed ink and usually it shows on the transfer fabric. Also - people can over dry their transfer paper prints (with an infared dryer) causing the printed ink to "powder out"; then when they position the paper or even pre-stack their paper- the powdered ink can shift or create small particle displacement.

Reason: additional thought
This happen during pre-heating with no transfer on. I check every shirts before I start pressing and this is very frustrating. I talk to the whosaler regarding this problem too but no resolution. The problem comes back to me.
I just wish there's someone here that have a way around this.
