Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I have an order for 13 tshirts with Stahl Pre-spaced numbers on the back and a logo on the front. I have a Mighty One clam press. My Stahl's order came with instructions, yet I still have questions.
1. It says to use "kraft" paper. where? what exactly is "kraft" paper
2. how would you go about printing front and back? Do you need to put something in between the shirt? should I do all the numbers first and then all the logos?
I don't know what kraft paper is either. I want to do front and back as well, I saw the oversized mouse pad for $10 at Office Depot that is mentioned a lot. I was thinking of giving that a try!
The oversized mousepads are generally used more to space things out properly when extra objects are involved, e.g. buttons on a polo shirt. I don't see this helping you do double-sided at all.
To do double-sized prints, you need either an extra teflon sheet, a teflon pad on the bottom of your press, or a press where you can 'dress the press' - that is, put the already-printed side under the press itself so it's out of the way.

I appreciate any and all help.
Kraft Paper is like wax paper....more or less.
If your shirts are flat and thick enough, you may not need to place anything inside the shirts. Stahls also makes teflon pillows that are to be used inside shirts, sleeves etc... when pressing both sides and other print placements.
Craft paper can be found at most craft stores such as...Michaels or Hobby Loby. If you dont have the paper for a two sided design...just dress the press.
Do you mean put an extra teflon sheet on the bottom pad then put the t-shirt with the printed side down on that and then put the transfer on the back side with another teflon sheet over that?
