Default Scratch marks on platen

While pressing a shirt, I had some of the tranfer paper fold over and it printed on to my upper platen. I used a brilo pad to remove the ink.It came off ok but it left visible scratch marks in several area of the platen. Is there anyway to repair this and or will it effect my future transfers? I haven't done any tranfers since this happened a few hours ago. I shut the press down and just discovered the scratches.

Well, testing is probably the only surefire way to find out. Heat up the press, get some scrap fabric/shirt and press on it.

In the future, I would NEVER use a brillo pad. I've had great success just rubbing the heated platen with scrap fabric until the 'gunk' is off, then pressing a few times on scraps to be sure all residue is gone.

I have read here that you could use IRON CLEANER. I have used some on my regular iron and it works great. Like this:
