Re: How to I format names for trophy plates and plaques?
Most Trophy & Awards shops built their business around ENGRAVING (Rotary, Diamond Drag, & Laser) for trophy plates & plaques. Sublimation is also a great product but I do not know of anyone that is relying on sublimation ALONE to produce their plates.
We use a 50w Universal laser to engrave most of our plates on Rowmark plastics or any of a gazillion brass sheet product choices. Sheet stock is generally 12x24" (called a quarter sheet because it is 1/4ths of a 48x48 "whole sheet")
The process would be to layout your plate in your favorite design software (we use Corel X3 mostly). The size of the plates is dictated by the size of the award.
Contact the ARA (National Association for Trophy Weenies) and see if there are local vendors that can be a great resource for parts, used equipment for you. Watch some YouTube videos.
