Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
In the begining I was making baby onesies with store bought tranfer paper, then I bought kids t-shirts from the store, just a couple of them.
I sold some at work.
in the mean time I steped up my production to getting a real heat press and a Epson printer with durabright ink.
This customer comes to me and tells me that the shirt I sold her got damaged in the dryer and ruined other clothes. she said she was not going to buy another shirt again. and I think she will tell others too.
I appologiezed and told her I would refund her the money.
I dint mention to anyone about the washing instructions... I figured they would think it would be a hassle to wash.
Anyways I think I learned my lesson... dont use the iron, must use the PRESS use pigment based ink give washing directions
I think it's a great idea to insert washing/care instruction for printed shirts rather than saying lengthy explanations. I just bought clear poly bags to put finished shirts, and on my next order, I will insert a small piece of printout saying Washing Instruction in the bag.
I do something very close to that for my stickers aswell. Ive come to learn that even though most people are smart, as a customer a good many become idiots. SO as to not single out the ones that strike me as so, I include instructions with everything now. On my jerseys I even print out the little blerp of wash care included with the vinyl I use. As to your situation, one bad sale isnt a huge deal and from the sounds of it, you did all you could to make it right. If anyone says anything, simply explain you were new and now you know better.
Always give washing instructions in with youre tees I`ve been down the same road as you and learned a very good lesson, also what i do is tell the customer when buying the tshirt. At the end of the day if your just starting out like me ,some time in your buisness you will get some bad feed back so all you do is to make sure you get it right in the future.apart for doing there washing for them i think 99% people know how to wash tees with transfers.
Im new at all this but I do know to tell them to turn the shirt inside out. Is there anything else I need to be telling them?
TO ACHIEVE BEST RESULTS... Wash with cold water... no bleach... do not iron directly on design... mild detergent... low dryer temp... do not stretch image...
