Default Help with Spectra Color Reflect

Hey everyone,
I recently did 4 sweatshirts with white color reflect. I followed the directions, (or so i thought) the vinyl is falling off. Is it ok if i reheat the vinyl for 5 seconds and just add alot more pressure?? Thanks for all help

Matt

Hey Matt, Did you preheat?? Making sure all moisture is out of the garment. Is the temp, set correctly? What type of press is it? Do you have a infrared thermometer?

Tell us the steps you took.

I took the garment out of the box and put it on press i guess regular way (neck away from me) and preheated garment according to directions - 5 sec at 305 deg
I have a knight 16x20 clamshell with auto release monitor showed 307 at start to 305 at end

i then placed the vinyl onto garment - lined up - and pressed according to instructions (i did use a teflon sheet the first time) 5 seconds at 305 deg - display showed 309 to start and 306 at end)

i then removed the plastic sheet. some of the edges stuck to the plastic

I then, following directions, plased the teflon sheet back over letters and pressed for 5 seconds at 305 deg - monitor showed 305 at start and 302 at end i held down 2 seconds longer)

It appeared to to have held good, but when he put it on for the first time, soe of the letters started to peel back.

I had a similar issue with the ecofilm, i wasn't using enought pressure, i reheated the ecofilm at 302 fot 15 seconds with alot more pressure and everything is fine now.

i am hoping that will work this time. I will have the shirts in my posession monday night to evaluate. I will post pictures at that time. I am just frusterated because this is a very large account and they like to "one up" each other.

Thanks for all input.

Matt

Hi Matt

Feel free to call me. Did you remember to peel away the protective liner prior to cutting?

There is a clear or pink liner on the adhesive side of the film that must be removed.
