Whatever product you use, heat transfer paper (inkjet or laser), dye sub, plastisol, or whatever else, the product will generally come with instructions. Sometimes the instructions need to be tweaked a little. When you are on the website buying the product, it will list what fabrics and other substrates it will work on.
It all depends on what heat press process you are using. But generally, the product description will tell you what fabric you can heat press the product onto, and include general instructions.
Once you choose a product, you can always look here and search that product for tips on transfer times. Good luck to you.
