Default inkjetfly CIS ?? any reviews?

Hey, im realy close to buying the CIS from inkjetfly.com for the EPSON 1280. i jus need to know if it works well with other brands of pigment ink, like Magic Mix. Also i was wondering why this system is so cheap. its only $79. all the other ink flow systems ive seen are hundreds of dollars. anyone know why? thanks

For not making the same mistake as I did, you will need to purchase the empty system and it will be easier to fill it with the pigment ink.

http://www.inkjetfly.com/product_inf...products_id=90

It’s only $59.95. As stated before the Dye-base ink works perfectly but don't forget to put the bulk at the same level as the cartridge. I'll try tp provide some picture during the weekend.

Unfortunately I mess up my CIS system, it's no longer working.

I have try to empty the cartridge by inserting a syringe inside of each color of the cartridge and refill them before closing the little hole made by the syringe - After doing that the printer could never recognize that there was ink in the black cartridge but for the other one it's ok. I also notice that the inks are leaking all over the printer while the printer is checking for the ink level.

Does anyone experience this before? Any help!!!!

Anyway, as a back up I will order another system CIS from inkjetfly with pigment ink and I will refill the empty bulk part when by the Magic Ink.

That was too much trouble for a starter.

Adam, I'll suggest you to go for pre-filled CIS from inkjetfly with the pigment set; this will save you much trouble. So far their system was easy to install and the printing was great with the dye-base.

My mistake was that I bought a CIS system with Dye-base ink that I was trying to empty to refill it back with pigment ink but mess up not in the bulk part but the cartridge part. Hope others will learn from that mistake.

James

Neither of them have posted for several months, so you may not get an answer. I would be curious how they worked as well, though =)

This review is about the Inkjetfly Bigfoot CIS for the Epson Stylus Photo R1800 printer. Other printers may behave differently.

I had nothing but trouble since I purchased this system. I was hoping to save some money and some time by having larger ink tanks that supply ink continuously and it turned out to be a waste of both my time and my money. The four main drawbacks of the system are:

- Whenever the printer "primes" - when it's turned on, or after a paper jam, or when the ink usage counter in one of the cartridges goes beyond a certain level - the printer simply stops printing. The nozzle check produces printouts that are mainly blank (missing nozzles), and doing a head clean doesn't help - if at all it makes things worse. The only solution is to wait quite a few hours, usually at least 12 hours, to let the ink "settle", and then do several head cleaning cycles. If you need the printer during this time, you're out of luck. Not to mention the ink and material (sometimes expensive material) wasted during the process.

- The inks produce a red cast that cannot be corrected. The profile I downloaded from the seller's site was totally useless. I ordered a "custom profile" from them and it didn't change anything. I then ordered an expensive professional profile elsewhere, and I'm still having a red cast that is getting worse as time passes. It seems that the ink colors are so off-balance that no profile can correct them.

- From time to time there's "bleeding" between the inks - a certain color has areas that contain another color (e.g. some red inside the yellow). Cleaning the printing areas according to the instructions given by the seller doesn't help (but time helps, until next time).

- The printouts are VERY dull compared to the original ink, especially on glossy/luster paper and CD/DVD media.

I communicated numerous times with the seller and was offered advise that didn't help. When I asked for a replacement or a refund, I was told that they are a small business and cannot afford to replace or refund.

Stay away.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. I hope that you can get it resolved in the future. Best of luck.
