Default which printer to get

I'm on the fence on what printer to get which is better the epson 1280 or the epson 1400. I know the 1400 uses 6 ink vs the 4 ink 1280 does that make a difference.

What do you plan to use it for, and also, can you still get the 1280? PS: the 1400s are on sale at epson.com for $199 new, no shipping and if there is still stock, refurbs are going for $143.20 no shipping.

Hi. In purely practical terms, it is far less hassle just having four colours to change rather than six. If you invest in a CIS system at some stage, you buy two less inks for that too.

If you were printing onto high class art media, or had really intricate designs with full colour and subtle tones, then there might be some advantage to a six colour machine.

the 1280 uses 6 inks, i've had the epson c-86 and a 1280, really can't tell the difference, save the money on the other two inks, we do sublimation.
