Default Crows and sparrows

I keep seeing a ton of tees, or sweatshirts with a crow sillouette, what am i missing here, what does a Black Crow mean, or a sparrow,
I have none of these in my designs, now,
If you have any info on this and can enlighten me, please do so.
Thanks

sandy JO

Crows and ravens symbolize death and the afterlife (among other things). Sparrows symbolize spring.

But I get the feeling most people use them in designs because they make pretty shapes.

They are usually symbols of bad omens. or like what Jasonda said. I think it is the same with why people have skulls and such on shirts. It's rebellious and cool to have a negative symbol. Rock and rollish.
