Default Do Transfers Go Bad? Over Time

Okay,

So I'm going through my house looking for all my transfers I have and find a pile of what I have bought over time from odds N ends sales I have seen at retail stores:

ALL Inkjet Transfers

Here's my question can or do transfers go bad over time?

I can't say for sure when I bought these most likely atleasy 8months+ ago. Can they go bad?

I was reading at work about what Coastal has to offer and all different types of new Digital transfers that are available should. I discard my old stuff and just buy new better stuff?

I don't think what i have is digital, what would you suggest?

Also any suggestions as to a good overall transfer to use?

If you haven't already printed on them, they should be OK. Try them out and see.

Hi Tim, I've seen that Q asked before, and the answer was no from folks who used older ones, and I mean older, years. They said they last for years if properly stored (not in a garage, damp basement, steaming attic, that sort of thing). I saw someone say they have used transfers from the 90's with no issues. I know there are a few thread out there, but couldn't bring them up for you. Mrdavid is one person I know that used older transfers. If you don't get too many responses, maybe send him a pm. There maybe more answers for you now already, I had to leave in the middle of writing this lol, sorry!! Best of luck. If all else fails, test one before you ditch the batch and spend for new... that may be a big $$ waste if you pitch them.

Kelly's right, always store you paper/transfers in sealed plastic and try to control the humidity if possible. I use some large ziplocs of varying sizes. High humidity is hard on any paper.

I know someone who has used 18 yr. old plastisol transfers and they turned out great. You need to store them in a sealed bag in a tempature controlled area. I store mine in plastic and then in pizza boxes. I stack them in a closet on a shelf all labeled so they are easy to find. I hope this helps. .... JB

Now that is a good filing system. I was in a pizza place recently, they had those boxes Everywhere. It's amazing how many will fit in a relatively small space. Anyway, nice sturdy boxes and great for room to label them. Nice, JB.
