How do you know if its not hot enough or not enough pressure?
How do you know if its not hot enough or not enough pressure?
I got a sample pack from transfers express. The screen printed transfers work awesome, but the digital prints are a bit harder to do.
They peel off all crappy, and sometimes not everything transfers.
How do i know if i need to add more time or add more pressure?
Is it possible to do too much pressure and too much time?
thanks

It may help if you explain in more detail what you are seeing. When I try a new new product I start with the instructions as a base line. Cut the transfer sheet into multipe pieces and based on the first press adjust time and pressure making note of changes. Time temp and pressure are all variables to consider.
Re: How do you know if its not hot enough or not enough pressure?
well, with a hot split one I tried. It told me 365 10 seconds peel hot.
I did around that temp, 10 seconds, peeled 2 seconds later, and half of the design was on, and the other half was still stuck to the transfer paper.
Can you get too hot and too much time?
And for pressure, I am doing the "paper" test. Where you put just enough pressure to make sure the paper is tight and cant move.

To check the heat of a press you can use heat strips or a IR thermometer. I bought my thermometer at Harbor freight for around $39 and it works well for. As for as pressure, I do the simple method,Iturn the pressure all the way down ( all the way to the left) and count the revolutions it takes to get to the hight setting ( all the way to the right ). The number in the middle is medium pressure. I hope this helps. .... JB
Re: How do you know if its not hot enough or not enough pressure?
It is really important to be at the correct temperature, you note you were around that temperature. Hot Split needs an accurate temperature of 365. If it is not working until you reach 400, your machine may be running cold. Goof Proof is much more forgiving, hence its name, and being around the temperature may be good enough, but it is important to figure out how much your heat press is off. Each transfer type has its own directions included, just be sure you follow the correct directions for the print.
