Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I highly recommend staying away from the "ebay presses" we got burnt on one of those (no pun intended) buy a good brand name one with auto-open like a Phoenix Phire. We love ours!
I second staying away from E -Bay presses. I know the price sounds good, but peace of mind, warrranty and customer support should a problem arise are worth the extra dollars, IMO. I own a 15 X15 Mighty Press bought through Coastal Business Supplies, very happy with it.

I want to stress you get what you pay for, if you buy cheap you get cheap. Buy a name brand press and be done with it, they cost more I know. You will be much happier with a quality press and not Ebay junk.... JB
Okay, I was one of those that bought an eBay presses, so now I agree with the other statements. I am still using it. It was a clamshell type. It does not have sufficient room, nor are the temp and sec controls completely accurate. On a brighter note, I managed to get it to work and am using it.
I am doing hot peeling and that room is really needed to get that timing down. I went through a few shirts and transfers before I did. I complete my first order of 15 shirts with no problem. So it is possble....
However, the amount of shirts and transfers did eat up some of the money that I thought that I was saving. You do get what you pay for... Now, I am going to continue to use this press until a return on my initial investment is met and have enough money to buy a good one that is a swing away.
I am specializing in Novelty / Humorous tshirts in my retail shop and do some online (mctshirts.com). Anyway, spending the extra money on a good press from the start would be wiser.
Matt, I thank you for your post. The statements of the draw backs from a consumer of a ebay press, really shows what others are saying, Good luck and check out a Hix,I think they are the best. .... JB
One can fall into a money pit just like Matt did in a heartbeat, the thing is great products can be produced in Tailand seems that some manufacturers have some great products if you have product control in place and stringent inspection of the product production,,,,, otherwise stay away from the ebay presses.
