Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
What substrates can flock be printed on? Is it mainly for t-shirts, or will it adhere to other materials (I don't know, anything I spose: cups, bags, boats, the cat, etc)? Give some examples (and preferably pictures) of some of your greatest flockwork~
Are you talking about flock transfers? Those are applied with a heat press, so a boat probably wouldn't work?
It's just like vinyl, but instead of smooth, it's soft and fuzzy. So whatever you can apply t-shirt vinyl to, you can apply heat press flock to (hoodies, shirts, totebags, button up shirts, etc)
I think you are confusing sign vinyl with heat press clothing vinyl...
Flock is a fuzzy material you can cut on a vinyl cutter and heat press to clothing. There are also numerous types of vinyl that you can also cut and heat press to clothing.
Then there is sign vinyl which uses different adhesives than the clothing vinyl. It's applied by hand to things like windows, etc. Then there's thing vinyl that can be printed and heat-shrunk onto cars and a whole host of other applications.
You need to match the material to the item you are trying to apply it to... Sign vinyl would probably work initially on a mug but I doubt it would hold up to a dishwasher for example.
It all makes sense now! Thanks for all the help! I was confusing sign vinyl with t-shirt vinyl, didn't realize they were different.
I guess my original question then would have been, do they make a sign flock that has an adhesive background? In which you answered no, so thank you.
So if I have this right, Flock can only be applied to what you would normally be able to heat press to, such as sweaters, shirts, bags, towels, and so on? Are there any other substrates that are heat press materials you could put flock on? (the only other thing coming to mind I've heard you guys talk about is tile, but not sure why you'd flock tile. lol)
