Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Hi i've recently set up a t-shirt company and have recieved an order to produce tshirts with a photo on them. I was wondering what the best option from to a transfering a high quality image to dark material using a heat press? What type of paper and company?
I have a laserprinter and was wondering if it was better than a ink jet [printer?
Re: Help needed with which transfer company to use
I would try to use the one closest to you. This will help in cost and time of shipping.I use a place 20miles from me and pick my stuff up.This allows me to get things done quicker

For transferring a photograph to a dark colored t-shirt, you would use an opaque transfer paper.
Since you have a laser printer, you may want to look into duracotton transfer paper for laser printers. More information can be found by searching the for color laser transfer using the search box at the top of the page.
Re: Help needed with which transfer company to use
You should also consider F&M Expresssions' Freedom Transfers. Depending on how many you need, this is a good option when add cost/sheet for opaque paper & ink costs.
Re: Help needed with which transfer company to use
thanks alot guys! It seems that both F&M Expresssions' Freedom Transfers and Duracotton do not sell in britain, ill have to look into shipping them over?
Unless anyone to know any british companies that sell similar products at high quality?
Re: Help needed with which transfer company to use
if its just 1 photo why not get them made using plastisol transfer's Target in UK will make them not sure of the cost.If you want to make them yourself I get my DK from Coastle Laser opaque they have a UK distributor. the name is Spaark, the quality of pic is very good but has a heavier plastic feel to it then the plastsol ones.
Duracotton is bringing a new paper out for Darks but as yet they are still working on it, we are keeping our finger X'ed that it will be as good as their paper for lights i am sure it will be. Hope this helps
