Default methods of applying art to T shirts at home

I just want to apply some of my art to a few T shirts at home. I tried iron-ons purchased at Staples and they have a hard plastic quality. What other methods can I try at home. I'm not set up to silk screen.
I don't even know what my choices are.
Thanks!
DrDaddio

Hi Drdaddio,

Here's a thread that lists the different printing methods, and a little info on each:
What is the Quality of Different T-Shirt Printing Methods? A list in general order.

If you want to apply your art at home, you'll need to decide how much equipment you want to buy. You'll need a heat press, then you'll have to decide if you want to print them as inkjet pigment ink transfers, laser color transfers, sublimination dye, or if you want to have your art made into plastisol transfers, in which case you don't need any printer, paper, or ink. But if you can get your art made into plastisols will depend on your art.

The above thread explains more on each process mentioned. Another option for getting your art onto shirts is to ask a DTG printer to do it for you. If you go this method, you won't need any equipment, just a good relationship with a great DTG printer. Unlike screen printing, DTG can do 1off's more affordably. The above thread discussing the different print methods. After you read that, you may have a much better idea which will work best for you and your art. Best regards, Kelly
