Default Transfer Express vs. Roland GX-24

Is it or would it be cheaper and less time consuming to use a service like transfer express for creating and having the heat transfers made vs. plotting them and having to do all that weeding?
I know it's all about how many, etc, but I'm getting ready to dive into this business and was wondering if one way is better than the other.
Does anybody use Tansfer Express, and have any advice for somebody just starting out? It looks very straight forward on their site, how about the pricing?
For example, what would a 1 color design cost to have 100 transfers made say average size for a tee shirt? it just seems like a great idea vs. plotting and weeding except for maybe the one off stuff. Any info and comments are appreciated.
John

I would pick the cutter myself. I would not have to wait for the stuff to be made and shipped, The cutter can also be used for just names number and signs too. The transfers service is nice for full color and if you have the lead time. the transfer service is much easier and less time consuming. I think both are good to have and use. The transfer Express option is best for the large orders too. I would not want to make 100 transfers and weed them , I would rather have them made and then just press them. ... JB

I would use Transfer Express or others like them (Ace Transfer, Versatranz, etc.) for larger quantity jobs but stick with the vinyl cutter for lower quantity runs.

No setup charge. There is a $15 charge for PMS color match. No charges for ganged images. Turnaround is about one week. Don't trust the pricing on their website although I think its mostly accurate now but last time they increased their prices they forgot to update the website for about three months. The company name is actually F&M although the web address is transferfreedom.com. Their transfers work perfectly everytime.

Transfer Express is on the pricey side for plastisol transfers. Check out Ace...they are much more reasonable....especially for your own designs. F&M is also reasonable but I like the soft feel of the Ace Transfers better.

I keep reading that about Ace so I'll probably order from them next time. How well do they trim their sheets? And do they trim out gang images as well?

You may need to start a new topic about that just in case people with the answer aren't reading a topic about "roland gx 24 vs transfer express"
