Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Im a newbie. I was doing some research and I recently saw some Heat presses for sale which advertised them as specific for white shirts.... is that true? do you need a different press to do different colored shirts?
You should not need a different press at all I have a stahls and it works for everything I would reccomend buying a name brand press because it is true with presses, that you will get what you pay for.
I have never heard of any press being only for one color what ever you are doing, it all has to do with temperature. There is no such thing as a press for only lights, not that I have ever heard of.

I'm not sure why they would advertise a press to be color sensitive. I have used my press for many colors and products with no issue. ..... JB

That doesn't sound right. Where did you see that?

Sounds like a slick salesman or pitch to me just to sell more presses. You just need one for shirts of all colors, just make sure it's big enough for what you want to transfer.
Is it possible they were referring to any transfers or papers that come WITH the press? That would make so much more sense to me..... Was it a package deal on the press?
Yes, you need a different press for whites, for reds, for greens, for every different color shirt. To be safe, I'd just purchase 50 presses from the start. Just Kidding
Personally, I wouldn't purchase from the company advertising that press. They're either slight scam artists, or they trully don't know what they're selling and you'll end up with a piece of junk. Like DTG Goddess BobbieLee said, you do get what you pay for (I also own 2 Stahl's presses - they have a great reputation for longevity and reliability - can't make money if your equipment isn't working)

The press was advertised on amazon.com its an illumapress 16 by 24. after rereading the ad i think when it says towards the end black t-shirt or white t-shirt the color is actually referring to the color of the press so i guess I was just mistaken sorry guys lol well anyway is anyone familiar with illumapress? are they any good?
