Hi. The seller you mention, doesn't always have the items in stock, even though they are listed on their site.

Incidentally, they also have a shop on EBay where you can check out their feedback.

Warranties all depend on the company actually being in existence ten years from now. Joys is just a distributor.

Hope this helps.

Imported three machines direct from China. Reputable long established company out there.

I use a Swingman 15x15 from Hix Corporation which runs around 700-800 dollars. There must be a distributor in the UK I would imagine. This is a good, manual machine, nothing digital to get screwed up here in Mexico where we have frequent power outages and brownouts. There is a mechanical problem in their manufacturing which causes the cable that connects the platen to the base to short out but is easily fixed (it happened on both my machines).

Hope this helps.

Cheers

I wouldn't have bought anything from China ten years ago, but they're not the primitive manufacturing country they once were.

Many international companies have plants there now and one of my machines is a copy of a George Knight model. I used to be an electrical engineer and the build quality is good.

It all comes down to how much you want to spend?

You can pay £1,000 plus for a combo press.

A new business is always a gamble. By keeping your capital costs down, you minimise any potential losses if it doesn't work out.

I bought a large heat press off Ebay. It was made in China. It was total garbage. Couldn't get a good transfer from it. The heating wasn't consistant across the whole press. My GeoKnight has been perfect from day 1. Well worth the money. If you don't want to spend a lot, buy a smaller press from a good company to start.

I started with the GeoKnight Jet Press 12 x 14. It was around $450 and I've pressed 1000s of shirts on it. The press on ebay was $275 and I think I get 0 good presses out of it. I got my money back on it.

I always tell people to buy a name brand and not Ebay junk from china. The old saying "you get what you pay for " is very true. ..... JB
