Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Hey whats up guys i am getting very discouraged right now, i have already ruined 10-15 shirts. for some reason my ink is lifting up off my shirts and the transfer looks blotchy, i am using jet pro soft stretch and using a 16/20 heat press, my temp is 375 for 30 seconds for some reason i cant dial in the pressure because Im not seeing any kind improvement on my transfers, any suggestions?

t sdounds like you are doing everything correctly.. You are pre-pressing.. right.. You are pressing on a flat surface with no seam of the shirt on the press right?..
It does, doesn't it, Lou. After checking on the pre-press, can you verify your press is running at the correct temp? If it's not, you'll have issues.
Here's a post with step by step pressing instructions. Read this, see if there's anything you can change about what you are doing to try to get improvments: transfer paper tips for lasting image
It includes info on the pre-press.
If you are doing these things, verify your press temp (with and IR gun from Harbor Freight), and make sure you have the pressure right. Best regards, Kelly
Hey Manny if you figure out the issue please post and let me know. ....... JB

I know of the frustrations when things don't work out right even though the directions wev'e followed were correct! I sometimes press and test on material cut outs before applying them direct to the garment. Only when I'm in doubt I do this, it's saved me a few tees and managed to play around with some settings to temp and time. Less frustrated these days!
Yep it's your ink.. I tried it as an experiment and got the same problems your having. Switched over to pigment ink and BOOIYA problem fixed.....
Hi Fellas, would you guys mind sharing what brand/name of the ink you each used so others know not to buy/try it? Thanks so much, and hopefully Manny, your problem is solved. Best regards.
