Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
We have been getting inquiries from customers about hats....So - for those of you with hat presses - do you recommend them? We do plastisol transfers, and cut vinyl. Are both or either of these shirt decoration methods applicable to hats? Obviously I know that hats can be embroidered, but without the machine...well just stuck on that one, lol.....
So I guess my main question is - do you use plastisol transfers and/or cut vinyl on hats? And if so - how is it working for you.....
(We also have an Oki printer, but have yet to find a suitable laser transfer paper but I guess that might be an option too???)
I wouldn't bother with laser/inkjet transfers on caps, maybe its okay but you can get embroidery done for $4-5/cap, cheaper in quantity. Plastisol transfers, patches, flocking, vinyl - sure, I would do those.
we have a hat press attachment for our george knight heat press. Its ok (the hat attachment). I would look into a seperate press, and test it out before buying.
I really dont like doing hats....but its money right?! Last week I used eco vinyl from imprintables, and this made it sooooooooooooooooo much easier than any of the other stuff Ive used.
I havent tried any plastisol transfers, but the cut vinyl good to use.
I love my Hix B250 hat press. I use it for hats, shirt sleeves, and umbrellas. I use this press for all kinds of hard to fit placements. I had 2 different hat press'(mighty press and Hix b250), I sold the mighty and kept the hix. I will tell you the Hix company makes great products. ...... JB
