Default how can I avoid cracking?

Hi,

I wanted to critique some of my old shirts that have transfers on them.

One in particular is a full color design and it sort of has some cracks. This is a shirt I bought in a resort town and how I know it is a transfer is because I remember seeing the merchant apply the design via a heat press. This shirt is only a year old and I was wondering how I can avoid a problem like this.

Are you asking how to avoid cracks on shirt you are producing or on shirts you already own?

If you are referring to shirts you are making, tell us what type of transfers you use; plastisol, inkjet, etc. as well as the brand of paper.

If you are referring to shirts you own, it could be from any number of reasons; type of transfer used, how applied, brand, washing method, etc. It's difficult to determine.

Hi. From doing lots of recent research on heat transfers, how you wash the garment can have a significant impact on whether the transfer cracks.

Washing instructions with some transfers I've looked at recently, have suggested turning the garment inside out, only putting through a cool wash, avoiding strong detergents and not tumble drying.
