Default Problems with applying heat transfers on white garments

I seem to be getting a lot of underlying fluff, loose bits of cotton, or sometimes strands of cotton that i can't actually see prior to applying the transfer paper (Jet Soft Pro). However, once applied because it leaves a solid print, underlying and loose fluff can be seen very clearly especially under certain colours, and because the heat transfer is applied over this it conceals these bits and they can't be removed!

It's annoying because i have wasted numerious shirts and i can't sell some as i know customers might want to pick at the bits they see and thus ruin the actual transfer!

Sorry for the loose terminologies but trying to describe as best as possible! I think most of you will understand...

So whats the best method of removing this! I don't seem to get this problem on grey or other light coloured shirts, but only the t shirt so it might be the make of t shirt being used, but i'm quite happy with the t shirt so don't want to switch to another t-shirt!

any ideas please?

I use the sticky roll hair removers like for pet hair. Lint brush roller I believe they are called. They work great and will get rid of those extra fibers Just use the lint roller on the garment before pressing and your problems will be gone.

you are not going to get rid of all thoes little fibers....just the nature of the product....i know exactally what you are talking about.....looks like little red and blue fibers stuck between the transfer and the shirt right?......nature of the beast......best you can do is what bobbielee said to do get some lint rollers and give it a good going over and that should help.....also......always use a cover sheet even when pre-heating.....thoes little fibers will stick to yer upper platten and then stick to yer shirt and use yer sticky roller on yer cover sheet as well good luck

Some brands or types or both are worse. What brand are you using? It is called pilling.

You might want ot try changing brands.

Thanks for the tip on using a cover sheet even for your preheat.
