Whats the verdict? I also have new 1400 still in the box till I figure out which ink system to use. Are you using the claria ink that came with the printer or did you get a different ink or ink system ?

hi, I just picked up an Epson 1400 as well. I made a screen with it this morning and the transfer worked perfect. I'm using stock ink and it didn't seem super dark on the film, but it did the trick just fine.
I went with the Epson, because of the price and the reviews. Getting a laser that'll print 11x17 starts getting pretty pricey. I don't need halftone capability at the moment, so it didn't bother me to not have the RIP feature built in. I can buy software down the road.

I'm probably going to pick up refillable cartridges from www.inkjetcarts.org to same money.
