Hiya Will, are you using dye sub on polyester?

For sublimation I print on brushed cotton, with a polymer outer layer. Only use sublimation for full colour on light fabrics.

Have finally found an inkjet transfer for darks, that hasn't peeled or faded after several washes now, so my print options have now expanded significantly.

Wow, great news, Will, on the transfers for darks. Good luck with it. PS: What did you find? (Curious as usual.)

I've read about the shirts you use on the forum. They are like the best of both worlds. The cotton folks perfer, with the great results of dye sub. I read they were expensive, but I suppose that is in the eye of the beholder, and compared to the mark up of the end product. Most folks here who use pigment inkjet heat transfers are wishing for a paper that gives the same results on a cotton shirt that dye sub produces.

Don't forget to tell me what you found!

Hi Kelly. I actually used dye based ink on the inkjet transfers, rather than pigment ink. Got good results too. Five washes at 40 degrees centigrade, followed by five bouts in the tumble dryer and still no fading, or peeling.

Item is unbranded from an EBay powerseller. All I know is that the paper is made in Europe.

Price for sublimation is relative. I can't produce a full colour image with zero hand, no peeling, or cracking, where the vibrant colours outlive the shirt, by any other realistic method. It is a premium print method, where the customer pays for good quality.

Hmm, that's right, didn't we talk about that in another thread? I think I saw you mention this paper, too. Do you have a link to the seller? Yes, I agree, dye sub is a very good printing method. The folks who use it on the forum seem to love it. What ink are you using for your dye sub? Thanks, sorry for all the Q's, lol, they just keep coming up.

Going to give the inkjet transfers the full twelve washes as you suggested, before I'll be suggesting them to folks. Very slight hairline cracking, but there again, they have been put on an extreme 'destruction wash cycle'. Everything you're NOT supposed to do to transfers has been done to them.

Sublimation inks I buy when someone has a deal on them.
