Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Are you needing it for sublimation? I just Googled "refurbished c88 epson" and came up with several great hits. Some were even from the epson company themselves. you will pay less than $50 plus shipping, but that is a great deal... my sublimation C88 (using a bulk ink system) will last me 1-2 years! Can't print the really wide stuff, but I have my main distributor for substrates do that for me. (Dye Trans / Conde Systems, ask for Derek D.) Hope that helped! --Amber
The c120 is a great printer, I have found it is much quicker than the c88. ... JB

The c120 replaces the c88 model. It has an extra black ink, and I hear it prints nicer and faster than the c88+. I haven't hooked up my new "refurbed" c120 yet.
The cx8400 is nice, I had one for a few days, but after I brought it home, I realized I could not find a bulk ink system for it (pigment, not dye sub.) If you plan to print pigment ink and not dye sub, and think you will switch to refill carts or bulk ink, make sure the model printer you want to buy has a system available for it, not all do. That's my best advice on that.
Like David, I just picked up a C120 refurb at epson.com, but mine was $36, and last year, that's where I got my c88+ as well. Refurbed also, and the c88+ runs fine. Haven't hooked up my c120 yet, but I did pick my mom up a cx9400 on the site last week for $66'ish dollars. Hooked that up, works fine. I think we got 20% additional discounts last week, looks like they aren't doing that this week.
I was over there out of curiosity bc of David paying $45, not the $36 a few us paid, so I grabbed you the links, here you go:

First, thanks you very much to all of you for your help and suggestions. I have some difficulties to find a C88 because I was doing my reserch in my area (Quebec, Canada), even in the Epson Canadian website they are out of stock, so I will now look in the US.
So, do I should buy the C88 or the C120?
Again, thank you very much, I really appreciate it!
Hi. Don't know if it's available everywhere, but the Epson C92 is a current model that you can easily get bulk feed systems for. It's a good little printer too.
I hear folks who have hooked up their c120's like them better than the c88+. I hear they like how it prints faster, and some have said it prints better. There is an extra ink cart to deal with, but it sounds like it's worth the trade off, plus, its the current model and the c88+ is being replaced by it.
I have a c120 in the box, just haven't hooked it up yet, but those should be much easier to find as they are current. Doesn't sound like a bad thing to get the c120. From the reports, I look forward to seeing it print faster and maybe even better. Best regards.
