Thumbs up My review of installation of 2 different CIS systems

Today I installed continuous ink supply systems into my printers. The printers are both Epson, a CX8400 and a C120.
The first CIS I installed was for my CX8400, which was supplied by inkjetcarts.us. I bought this printer new from circuit city, in Ca. costing me $69. + tax. (about the same price as a set of Epson Durabrites)
I originally bought refillable carts for this printer from injetcarts.us but was unable to get it working because I could never get past"inks not recognized" on the display. The reason for this is the chip set that was on these carts could not fool my NEW printer into thinking I had Genuine Epson Inks. It is a constant battle to update these chipsets and the makers of these systems are always trying to keep up to date, as Epson trys to stay a step or two ahead.
I bought these refillable carts from injetcarts.us as the FABRIC PRINTERS KIT which included 4 refillable carts, four 4oz. bottles of Heat Transfer inks, and the syringes needed to fill and prime these for $57.95 + shipping.
I was having the problem as stated above so I called Ross from injetcarts.us and told him my problem, and he stayed with me on the phone troubleshooting and then when all avenues had been tried, he then tiold me he would send out another ( different) set, and he did so that day, at his cost. Now trying to keep a long story as short as posible, I did get the second set of carts two days later and the same problem as above, so I called Ross again and he then said he would send me his CIS system for the CX8400, and work with me to " GET THINGS RIGHT".
I recieved this system two days later, again at his cost, and I installed it last night.
It came with an instructional cd and was real simple to install. At first the chips were not recognized and I thought here we go again but the re-set switch actually worked, and I was able to get it working.
After the initial charging , and doing a print check, head cleaning and nozzle check - a dozen times- I was still having problems with colors and banding. So I took out these carts and set them on the side and put in the Genuine Epson Durabrite carts and printed a test page, and it looked like it was supposed to, no color or banding problems at all.
Im then re-installed the CIS carts and to my surprise, it was beautiful. I did many test prints, and then got brave and printed a graphic with lots of different colors onto a jpss, and another onto some bluegrid for darks and then heatpressed them both and they looked great.
These days a lot of businesses claim to have unsurpassed customer service, and usually you can tell right away they could care less about your problems, but with Ross at inkjetcarts, he went above and beyond my expectations, I really thought I was screwed, but he stuck with it, got me up and running and never asked me for another dime, and told me to hang on to the other carts, I might be able to use them at a later date if I get another printer.
ROSS AT INKJETCARTS.US GETS MY 5 STAR TWO THUMBS UP RATING !!!

C120
Now this story wont be as long. I promise.
I called inkrepublic.com and told them my story above and how afraid I was of "inks not recognized".
Danny was familiar with this problem and assured me they keep up with the latest chipsets, and not to worry because he would send me his CIS for free and if it worked, great-pay me then- if not then dont pay me.
He sent me his whole CIS system with inks for nothing.
This system is a little more intimidating, lots of little pieces and doo-dads and I thought I would need a degee in engineering to install it. It came with a CD with lots of pictures showing the step by step installation, but not a lot in the form of written instructions. I got a little information from their website, but after familiarizing myself with the pieces and install pics on the cd I went for it. It was really quite simple after all.
I fired up the printer, it charged great and printed beautifully from the start.
I havent done any heatpress tests with this yet as I did the other but I will tonight.
DANNY AT INKREPUBLIC.COM ALSO GETS MY 5 STAR TWO THUMBS UP REVIEW FOR OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BELIEVING IN HIS PRODUCT SO MUCH TO SEND IT OUT TO ME FOR FREE, TRUSTING ME-who knows I could just be another flake-TO PAY HIM ONLY IF IT WORKS.( PS- I need to e-mail him now and work out payment-I an not a flake)

I hope this gives some folks a little help, I was a little scared to install these but it really isnt all that hard. Sometimes I am kind of stupid and can make things more difficult. Even the easy stuff- like doing my test heatpress -I pressed it upside down.
Of course it looks great but only from the person wearing the shirt.

I forgot to add that the CIS with inks from inkrepublic is going to cost me $195.00
Also the installation of both of these systems required a little fine tuning of the placement supply hoses to avoid binding.

This is just an up-date on my installed cis sytems.
So far really no problems at all, but I did need to use the reset buttons on each to reset the ink levels.
Perhaps the printer itself determines that its time to replace the ink cartridges by its use rather than an actual guage like your car gas tank.
It was very simple to do, first the printer tells you to replace ink carts, you put it in that set up mode than press the white reset button once for two seconds then release then repeat again for two seconds and release. After that all you do is press the button on the printer for the final replacement as you would if you changed the original carts, it re-charges and the ink levels go back to full.
I am still on the original 4oz bottles of inks that came with both systems but I do need to order more for backup.
These systems have been great, and the inks are transfering so good, no color shifting, banding or any other problems at all. I am very happy with both and they have already saved me lots of bucks compared to the epson durabrite costs.
I do like both systems from each supplier (inkjetcarts.us and inkrepublic.com ) but the inks from Ross at injetcarts.us are a little better and so much cheaper. Ross has told me they are from a manufacturer in New York and not China.
Hope this helps anyone considering the decision to purchase one of these systems into diong it, it really has been woth it.
If you have questions or need help pm me, I will do my best to help.
