Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Hey Lou
I like the idea of your t-pad it. I use mouse pads and such. But think I will order your set, looks like just the ticket.
But I have a request for you. Any other pointers you can give on how to use the T-Square it? I bought one, but to be honest it frustrates me so much I wind up not using it. Plus it seems to about triple the time it takes to do a shirt!
My problem is the initial line up with the collar. In your video you say you line it up with the high points of the collar. I have a box Of about 100 shirts and I'll be darned if I can find one where the collars two high points line up to make a shirt square and straight. And if I go by shoulder seems, it seems to take forever to put it down, line up t-square, take t-square off, move shirt, line up t-square, take t-square off, move shirt... get my meaning? I AM pressing the shirts first, but again, is there a trick to pressing a shirt to get all the seems to line up and be even from side to side?
Is it just me? (most likely!) But just wanted to throw thit out there to see if you have any other pointers, or if you think it may just take a little getting used to using it.
We line up a tee before we start and use a pencil to mark on the platen where to put the bottom of the neck/collar, etc.
I was really battling with it like you have said, bought the t-square and try to line it up with the platen either on the heat press or on the printer. It helped me and I didn't think anything could.
I bought one of the first Tee Square It and it took a little getting into a rythem. I will tell you all my transfers are straight now. I really like it. I know have 3 of them. I also have 2 sets of the tee pad it also. I know there is a new item on the way and I will buy it too. I know when Badalou puts his name on it or endorsees it , then it's a winner. He is careful and mythotic on his inventions and endorsements. ...... JB
Lou I still have to buy the tee-square-it.. and the pads...the thing is there are so many things to buy, and I still need so many things, among them the before mentioned tools...
I got Lous t-square from the beginning,
This is how i do it,
1.I find my label, ( and guys watch your labels some are off center big time.)
have this in the middle of the press plate, i slide it way back to make sure that i dont make those ugly marks on the collar.
2. I check my underarm areas and make sure they seem even with same amount on sides,
3. Grab the t-square, hook it onto my collar and plate, where the label is above it.
4. Check on the 2 sides to make sure i have 7 1/2 inches on both sides, (15 inch press)
5.Now go down 4 inches
6. I acutally put my square together upside down, so i can use the square flat on the garment not raised. I put the transfer down under the square at 4 inches
7. check both sides to make sure numbers are the same
8.bring the square all the way to the bottom to make sure the bottom is level.
Remove Square and put protective pressing sheet over transfer and press away.

that was just a way o doing it. use the back plate and find the inches of the collar and make sure the inches are the same on both sides and you will be in the center. Then check the width bar so you have the same number of inches on both sides. It takes about 10 seconds. Remember it is only a tool to assit.
