Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
We just got our first very small order of t-shirts back from a local printer.
The design is 1 color (white) and we had it printed on black shirts and pink shirts.
The dark shirts have what looks like the impression of the heat press that you can see if you are close to the shirt. It is not noticable from a distance, but if you are close, you can see a rectangular shape that is a little different than the rest of the color of the shirts. It looks like an iron was left on the shirt for just a little too long.
Is this normal? Does this "shiny" area go away when you wash the shirt? We are washing one now to test it out, but it would be unrealistic to wash every shirt that we send out. Yet, I wouldn't want to send these shirts to customers either.
Re: Should heat press leave an impression on dark T?
Having the impression from the heat press is normal and some color shirts (like red) will noticeably change colors when pressed but it will go away once it cools off.
If it's shiny and discolored, sounds to me like it got scorched.
