Default Should heat press leave an impression on dark T?

We just got our first very small order of t-shirts back from a local printer.

The design is 1 color (white) and we had it printed on black shirts and pink shirts.

The dark shirts have what looks like the impression of the heat press that you can see if you are close to the shirt. It is not noticable from a distance, but if you are close, you can see a rectangular shape that is a little different than the rest of the color of the shirts. It looks like an iron was left on the shirt for just a little too long.

Is this normal? Does this "shiny" area go away when you wash the shirt? We are washing one now to test it out, but it would be unrealistic to wash every shirt that we send out. Yet, I wouldn't want to send these shirts to customers either.

Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

One more thing, I don't know if this makes a difference or not, but the T Shirts that we printed on were Gildan 2000's.

Is this the right category for this post, or would it be best to post it under a different thread?

Thanks!

Having the impression from the heat press is normal and some color shirts (like red) will noticeably change colors when pressed but it will go away once it cools off.

If it's shiny and discolored, sounds to me like it got scorched.

Did you use a teflon sheet?

I think they said they got them from a printer so I don't think they did the printing

The red shirts really do show until they cool, but since they are already cool I doubt that is the problem

Yeah, I agree, it sounds like they were scorched.
