Default plastisol transfers on tank tops?

Can anyone tell me if you can use plastisol transfers on 1x1 ribbed tanks? I found out for myself that they don't do well on 2x1 ribbed! I have a gymnastics tournament and the director would like to sell tank tops to the girls... I will have first-edition making my transfers. Is there some type of special transfer additive they'll need to use? They'll be making me up the same design that I'll be using on 100% cooton tees also. So I'm hoping I won't need a special transfer for 1x1 ribbed tanks and that the transfers can be the same for the tees as well as the tanks?

If the 1x1 will possibly have tearing the transfer problem does any body know of a girls tank top that is more like a t-shirt material to eleveate this problem? And where I can find them?

Hmmm. Would a plastisol transfer work on something like this?:

Baby Rib Sleeveless Crew Neck - Tank Tops - American Apparel Online Store

Thanks in advance for any replies!

you could throw in a stretch additive or some adhesive, we have done 2x1's like that. We also print our own transfers and apply them, so we have better control over the process. But no matter what you do, there really is no prefect answer. 2x1 are a pain for even screen printers.

I agree so we'll be bagging the 2X1 idea... I went ahead and tried a 1x1 ribbed tank and they seemed to work alot better, not perfect but possibly workable. I'll be talking to first-edition and mentioning the idea of a stretch additive to the transfers. Hopefully that'll be the trick.

Gary how did the 1x1s turn out and which transfer maker did you use? I'm now in the same boat myself.
