Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I am having trouble finding heat paper for my OKI C8600 LED laser printer, have tried one lot from Spaark but it smudged everywhere and my OKI has only just recovered.
Have you tried going to the lightest paper setting in your Oki. This might solve your problem. We have customers here using similar Oki Printers with success.
The paper is Spaark 2100 Laser Techniprint Transfer paper.
It does mention that it is also for use with those printers that do not use fuser oil.....
I have not had the printer long so was actually not aware that was an issue, or that my chosen printer settings could take it from a disaster to good results.
So I will be having another go, although I'm nervous as the printer costs £1000.

Thanks again for your adice.
According to Neenah, the paper manufacturer, is start with standard paper weight and increase the paper weight to heavy if fusing problem exists. I would even try up to ultra heavy if nothing else works.
Oki printer is very easy to clean when the polymer melts on the fuser. Create a text file with space character. That way you do not use toner. Print the file using regular paper a few times until the sheets come.
clean.
I believe I have tried the techniprint was with the sample I got form coastal and I had the problem you have. I did not try any since then.
If you are not having any luck try Imageclip. Spaarks sells it also.
Imageclip imaging paper does not have polymer coating therefore jamming or melting is not a issue. I use the Ultra heavy setting and card stock to make sure the toner is fused properly. I also feed the paper in Multi pass tray and rear paper output tray. Imageclip is also a self weeding system. So polymer box is practically none existent. BTW this transfer paper is made by Neenah also.
I use Oki C5200Ne color laser printer.

I also had no success with TechniPrint, it did not always smudge, but it leaves a heavy poly window and hand.
I have had the most success with Duracotton HT and Image Clip. Image Clip is a two step process that is very sensitive, but once you have it down it is nice. I use DuracottonHT for most of my printing and love it!
I use an Okidata C5800

I use the Duracotton HT with my OKI. It leaves a faint polyester window after pressing, but this disappears after first washing. The window is not really that objectionable that people would be offended by the outcome. The toner transfer with the Dura HT is excellent in my opinion. You may have to play with the paper weight setting, however, to keep it from getting caught in the fuser roller. Hope this helps.
Conde Systems sell Techniprint 4. They also have a firmware update for the C8600 that make the best transfers you have ever seen. I have 2 of these printers and love them. Also their toner is reasonable- 119 colors dont rememb er for black. ask for Micky @ext 201 Tell him Mary from Creative Solutions sent you

Actually the OKI8600s are a little odd sometimes. Just printing paper through doesn't always work. Sometimes you have to print one piece, then wait for printer to cool down and print again and you will see more residue come out. Or print a blank plain paper sheet, then print the transfer paper.
