These are quicky notes that I hope will help someone avoid
wasting time as I did this afternoon. So much for plug 'n use.
Your CD that comes with the color laser OKI C5500N does not
include the driver for Windows Vista.
You must go to okidata.com website and download the driver.
With the printer off, install the driver.
IMPORTANT...it defaults to C:\OKIDATA. You will need to know this.
Go to Control Panel, PRINTERS and ADD A PRINTER. It will take you through
prompts to find the driver. Choose LPT1. Select HAVE DISK and then BROWSE.
Keep on clicking C:\OKIDATA and all the subfolders
until you get that one single file that is the driver!
Follow prompts. Turn your printer on and print the test page.
