Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I have found a heat press I am going to buy, a 15"x15" mighty press. I want to be able to print on any color of 100% or 50/50 cotton shirts. So what kind of printer and transfer paper should I use? I have been researching and have came across a few websites that make screen printed transfers, is this a better way to go? I already screen print, but cannot afford to do small orders, and it is hard to make shirts in advance that I would like to go around and sell. This is why I chose to get a heat press. So I can take it around to events, do small orders more efficient, and to print numbers on shirts. Am I making a good decision? Should I buy the press?
Could anyone give me some websites where they make screen printed transfers. Where should I get transfer paper?
The mighty press is a good machine and a 15x15 is a good size for travel. I would not buy a smaller press than a 15x15. I think your choice is a good one. Good luck. ..... JB

I agree with Lou it is awesome and will make us all stop and revaluate our goals . .... JB
Lou and Jerry I will send you guys over the finished unit Monday its revised and a far cry from the first generation, it will be polished and very nice. Glad you guys liked it. Working on phase 2 as we speak.
Change, I am a Beta tester too and to collect opinions or advise is always a good thing, do not ignore them.
Last but not least you're going to run your own business and I think you feel a lot better if you would end up with the paper that fits best for your very own purpose.
Some people are looking just for the cheapest, others for the best and another like it both so what your requirements are you are the only one who can tell.
There are a bunch of good sites offering paper so to spend just a few dollars they will send you sample packages right to your door where you, can make up your very own opinion of what paper is the best for you.
Only that will enable you not just to make money but also to make a product which have your very own fingerprint in quality.

What are some of the most used web cites for transfer paper? What do you think about the websites that make screen printed transfers? Are they worth it, or will I be paying to much for each transfer?
Chance,
YOu will love the screenprinted transfers on plastisol,
that is where i started, and i am so spoiled now.
Get a variety and play, plan on not selling the testers, you will be wearing these or using for paint shirts, but play with all kinds see what fits you.
I also believe one process does not suit me, i need to press, screen, and do vinyl, rhinestone, ect.. check em all out

Didn't your Mothers teach you its not polite to tease people like this. I'm guessing that it is some sort of geneticly reproduce badaluo that will make your shirts for you?

The mighty press is a great press, I've been very pleased with mine . And 15 x 15 is the perfect size for packing up and taking to shows. I have heard that Ace makes some great plastisol transfers. and Pro World offers some really good stock transfers also. Good Luck.
