Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I just sold an order for 130 t-shirts. It will be a text only Design. The design will be a black text print with a white outline. It will be put on a Red 2000 gilden 100% cotton shirt.
Here's my problem.
About 2 months ago I had a fairly reliable transfer company do me some transfers. The art work seemed to me to be fine. It was a one color print---all white ink. I received the transfers and the dog on the design was terrible. I was so disappointed but was in a bind and needed the shirts. I called my client and he came over and approved the shirt so I competed his job. I will never do this agian. If I'm not satisfied I will not print it.
I called the company to visit with them about the transfers and I got a lot of crazy excuses as to why they looked like they did. After a few minutes visiting I realized I was getting nowhere so I ended the conversation
I now am very leery of of doing the transfer thing again but do to some time elments I don't have time to do screens for printing. If I do transfers I can have everything waiting for me when I get home from vacation and do them the day I get back.
I have read Rodneys Dairy and read the evaluations of the different transfer companies but would truley appreciate some help in deciding who to contact for good transfers with a soft hand.
Dennis: the first company I used for custom plastisol transfers really disappointed me, too. Ever since then I have used First-Edition and F&M with no problems.
