Default Double-Sided shirts using vinyl

I have a couple of shirts to make that incorporate a front and back design. I will be using a cold peel vinyl. A couple of questions:

1. Do I press the first side for a shorter time since it will be getting more heat when I do the back side?

2. Should I peel the backing after I press the first side and use teflon or leave it on?

Thanks,
Jeremy

Our heat press lets us slide the shirt on one side at a time, My guess is don't use a shorter time as that's what you need to adhere. With cold peel it shouldn't matter.

Yes you can apply heat pressed vinyl to both sides of a garmet with no problems, you can actually apply more then 1 layer to each side. Just be sure and use a teflon sheet or parchment paper to protect the first layer of vinyl.

Dave is 100% right and with cold peel vinyl the extra dwell time on one side won't matter. If I were doing 2 sided designs , I would switch to a hot peel vinyl to increase your production. .... JB

I used a cold peel vinyl to do alot of 2 sided shirts. I did a test on a shirt though and right after I pressed the first color of a 2 color design I very slowly peeled the backing off. It worked great. I then pressed the 2nd color and let it cool for a couple seconds and then peeled agian. Great results.

I then pressed the back of the shirt with a one color design and peeled backing after a short cooldown and all went well.

several washs later I couldn't tell it from new.

Hope this helps

Dad
