Exclamation Transfer distorted from backing??

Sorry for the double post.

Hi everyone I am new. I bought a press 15 x 20, and an Epson 1400. I also bought a 100 pack of sublimation transfer paper 13 x 19. Little did I know that sub paper doesn't work without sub-ink. I figured that it would come with compatible ink since it was in the sub-printer category on every site I went to. I also purchased sof'link shirts in the process. I can't use my sub paper so I have started to fool around with inkjet transfer paper. It seems like the shirts stretch the image as I remove them no matter what. I have tried jpss, and jet wear hot. Is it because of the material or am I just an idiot?

Default Re: Transfer distorted from backing??

Dear Majikterror,
So you have a problem while the transfer is being pulled away after being pressed? Let the doctor go to work.
I believe that I had the same problem.
A hot peel is a hot peel. . , right? Well not all hot peels were created equal. For example the hot peel transfer known as 'ironall' needs to be peeled immediately off from the substrate. 'Immediately' being in the first three seconds. Now if you falter and you end up delaying in your peel then the transfer will cool down enough to make it much harder to peel off. If you find yourself exerting too much force you know that you have entered the 'oh no. . it cooled down too much zone'. This is the type of scenario that when peeling it will distort your final design.
Now, the transfer named 'sofstretch' has a different trait compared to the 'ironall' brand. Going from my observations and talking with the gentlemen from alpha supply, when you're done pressing and you release the heat platen from it's clamped position you actually have to wait three seconds before peeling. If you peel too quickly then you will notice that it is hard to peel the backing of the paper off of your substrate. This will also distort your final design.
All in all no two transfer papers are alike. Therefore read the instructions. and if you are still getting those results of distortion then call the resaler of the tranfer papers.
I hope that I have shed some light.
The check will be in the mail
