Default Printing Blue Text

I am having a problem printing text in blue.
When I sellect the shade of blue from any program and come to print it out, the colour is nothing like what I intended it to be.

A dark blue comes out almost black and a medium blue is really a grey.

I have printed pictures and the shades of blue are fine in these, it is just the text.

I have tried all kinds of paper from photographic to opaque transfer and this makes no difference.

My printer is an Epson D92 fitted with a cis and pigment ink. But i can't see these being the problem because they print the blue in pictures fine.

I have been into the printer settings and noticed that I could mess around with the CMY but I have not done this as yet.

I changed the settings from Epson Vivid to Adobe RGB but this made very little difference.

It's driving me nuts.

you might want to invest in a pantone solid-to-process guide pantone solid to process color bridge rgb guides ds hexachrome book guide so that regardless of what you see on your monitor you're getting the color output that you expect.
