Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
my Epson C88 is not printing the cyan. I printed probably 10 sheets of transfers. I was running out of Cyan so I changed the ink cartridge for the cyan. Now it's not printing the cyan at all. I've gone through all the maintenance procedures with cleaning the nozzles and so forth. Should I take the cartridge out and manually clean something on the computer. This has never happened before.
running some printing tests, it's not printing my black either. I also changed out the black ink cartridge. Very odd that the two cartridges I changed out are now not printing. The ink levels are going down when I look at the print setup, and when I pull the cartridge off, I can see that ink is coming out of the cartridge. Just not making it to the paper.
Just to confirm the previous Cyan cartridge was working fine. It was just after swapping out for a new cartridge that you had the problem. The nozzle should not have goten clogged just swapping cartridge out. The last time I had a problem like you are having it was the new cartridge that was the problem, it did not have much ink in it. As soon as I put another cartridge in all worked again. Just a thought.
I had that problem but I have the Epson 1280 and a bulk easyflow system. I had to re-prime the cyan , if anyone has the bulk inks and has this problem, email your ink supplier and get instructions on re priming the system.

The low ink warning came up, I changed the cartridge and ran it through the setup for the new cartridge. I printed another sheet and it was missing the cyan. After trying the maintenance to clean the heads and nozzle, the black went low so I changed that out. After that, the black and cyan stopped printing. And after I started having problems with the cyan, I put in a new cyan cartridge. So I now have two new cyan's open. I checked the nozzles and see wet ink around them so I know ink is coming out of the cartridges. Very strange since I printed around 8 8-1/2 by 17 sheets prior to this happening without any problem. I change cartridges and then nothing. I hate to With the new cartridges I can't use and the transfer paper I've ruined, I'm almost halfway to an Epson C120. I should just go buy one, get the C88 fixed and use as a backup, if there really is something wrong. Maybe it's just a coincidence that I got three bad ink cartridges.

If you just have the regular cartridges, can you reprime?
sometimes there is a peice of plastic blocking the ink head. Confirm that there is nothing blocking the ink from coming out of the cartridge
There isn't. I see fresh ink on the printer and I see fresh ink on the cartridge. It's strange because as I print, the bars on the screen that show the ink status, show the ink level going down. The system senses ink being used. It's just not making it to the paper.
I don't know. I only paid $70 for the printer almost two years ago. Maybe a cost of $35/year is good and I should get a new C120 since I will have more orders today I have to get out.
