Default Epson 1280 CIS malfunction

Hi everyone, I have a CIS system for my Epson 1280. It's worked fine for the last year. Colors became missing, then black. Read troubleshooting about foam or air bubbles in the cartridges. Went through the sucking the ink out of the carts from bottom, return ink to bottle. Worked fine for a few prints, then colors missing, then black. Redid the missing colors, then black. Again same thing. Are refillable cartridges with resetting chips any easier or more dependable. Basically the 1280 has been not printing for about 10 days. Gotta c120 on the way for a backup. Should I replace the CIS with refillable cartridges? I still have HT ink to fill them with. Share your knowledge that I may learn.

try to open the top of cis where you fill the inks so the the air bubbles can disappear and try to print anything....good luck

I also have the 1280 and CIS and this happens to me occasionally. As silly as it may sound, take out both cartridges and flip them over on their backs for 5 - 10 minutes and then reinsert them. {Also while you have them out, make sure nothing is blocking the holes. On two different occasions I have found a little piece of clear plastic partially covering the holes.}
